The Girona Citiy Hall, in collaboration with the Girona University Scientific Park are developing a virtual and augmented reality, serious games, 3D cinema and industrial applications 3D research lab, suitable for research in the Girona University Scientific Park.

The lab will be suited with the last generation equipment which appears on the market, including:

- Augmented reality equipment (tables, mobile devices, etc.)

- Virtual reality equipment (gloves, glasses, headsets, etc.)

- ImmersaPod and ImmersaWorld Dome

- 3D visualization equipment

- IP tv lab

- Texture acquisition system

- Multicam system for panoramic movies projection

- Stereoscopic camera and polarized light system for cinema

- 3D scanner

This lab is ready for all the companies of people who are interested in making trials, projects, collaborations with the University’s research groups, etc.

Ok, that sounds great, when will it be available?

Starting on December 2011, the lab will be online with the latest market launches, including the ones which are not yet available!

Technological Fund of INVEST IN SPAIN
Convocatoria:
Convocatoria 2/2010 de ayudas del programa "Promoción de Implantación de empresas extranjeras"
Asignación económica:
1.600.000 €
Contenido de la convocatoria:
La Convocatoria incluye un conjunto de medidas con el propósito de fomentar la I+D+i en las empresas de capital extranjero que pretendan implantarse en España o en aquellas que, estando ya implantadas, pretendan iniciar sus actividades de I+D+i. En concreto se prevén:
- Ayudas a experiencias piloto de implantación de empresas
- Proyectos de implantación de empresas
Las ayudas previstas se destinarán a cubrir los siguientes conceptos de gasto derivados de la realización del proyecto:
- Gastos de personal
- Costes de instrumental y material
- Costes de edificios y terrenos
- Costes de investigación contractual, conocimientos técnicos y patentes adquiridas u obtenidas por licencia
- Gastos generales suplementarios
- Otros gastos de funcionamiento
Se aplicará una intensidad de ayuda máxima de un 80% en investigación aplicada y de un 60% en desarrollo experimental sobre el total de la cantidad estimada como subvencionable, de acuerdo con el Marco Comunitario sobre Ayudas Estatales de Investigación y Desarrollo e Innovación (2006/C 323/01).
Los criterios de selección de las operaciones serán los siguientes:
Incremento de los recursos de la empresa dedicados a la I+D+i.
Incremento de la intensidad tecnológica aportada en forma de patentes, licencias, etc.
La valoración de los efectos directos, indirectos e inducidos
Efecto arrastre del proyecto sobre la economía regional/nacional
El interés estratégico de las tecnologías a desarrollar para España
Fomento de los acuerdos de colaboración entre agentes privados
Fomento de los acuerdos de colaboración público-privado PPP (Public-Private-Partnership)
El periodo subvencionable comprenderá desde el 1 de abril de 2011 hasta el 31 de marzo de 2012.

ANEXO I. Modelo de solicitud de ayuda
Call:
Call for aid applications 2/2010 under the program "Promotion of Establishment of foreign companies"
 
Amount:
1,600,000 €
 
Notice Detail:
 
The call includes a diverse set of measures, all aimed at promoting R&D&I in companies with foreign capital wishing to set up operations in Spain or those already established in the country who wish to begin R&D&I activities.
  
The aid categories are as follows:
  
- Aid for pilot studies aimed at setting up company activities
- Setting up company activities
 
Items elegible for aid:
 
- Staff costs
- Equipment and materials costs
- Buildings and land costs
- Costs pertaining to contractual research, technical knowledge and patents acquired or obtained under licence
- General supplementary costs
- Other operating costs
 
The basic percentage eligible for aid depends on the type of projects implemented by the company, and the eligible percentage will be as follows a maximum 80% of the investment deemed eligible for small companies in Industrial research and 60% of the investment deemed eligible in Experimental development.
 
Basic Selection Criteria:
 
- Greater company resources allocated to R&D&I
- Increase in the level of technology contributed in the form of patents, licenses, etc.
- Evaluation of the direct, indirect and resulting effects
- Clustering effect of the project on the regional/national economy
- Strategic interest of the technologies to be developed in Spain
- Promotion of partnership agreements among private agents
- Promotion of public/private partnership agreements (PPP)
 
The time period eligible for aid will be from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
